Yesterday I caught my husband and our oldest daughter, Gemma, choreographing their very own dance, set to an obscure EDM track. It went something like this: both walk away, look back, spin around, point, “tap the watch,” flutter the arms across the chest, sway to opposite sides, do the “go to sleep” hand movement, and then there was some kind of Dirty Dancing lift situation. When the beat dropped, they both broke into a freestyle jam. So I thought it was apropos to do a post on this fringed Petitbo dress, of which Gemma owns a few. When teamed with her crazy, waist-length waves and her wild, unihibited dancing, I am reminded of how important it is for little girls to feel completely free and totally unself-conscious. Though I would argue that judging from the routine, dads need to feel that way sometimes too.
